The ocean faces multiple stressors from climate change, harmful human activities, the overexploitation of marine resources, and other disasters. Impacts to the ocean extend beyond its coastlines and determines the lives of people and economies around the world. Fortunately, healthy marine ecosystems are better able to adapt to and recover from negative impacts. We must identify mechanisms to ensure sustainable and equitable ocean management and appropriate ocean protections to promote the health of both ocean and humans alike.
Promoting sustainable and equitable ocean management to enhance the ocean’s capacity to adapt to and recover from multiple stressors so the ocean can continue to provide for and strengthen the resilience of nations, economies and people
