It was in 1983 that Prathap Reddy made a pioneering endeavour by launching India’s first corporate hospital – Apollo Hospitals – in Madras (now known as Chennai). As one of the foremost integrated healthcare groups in Asia, its presence includes 9,834 beds in 69 hospitals, 3,250 pharmacies, over 200 primary care and diagnostic clinics, more than 150 telemedicine centres and branches spanning the length and breadth of the country.
