Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT)

The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand or EGAT is a state enterprise responsible for electricity generation, acquiring transmitting and selling bulk electric energy via the EGAT transmission network, which reaches all parts of the country. EGAT also produces lignite for lignite-fired power plants and sells lignite by-products for industrial use. EGAT also provides energy-related services to external companies and private power plants and invests in electricity and energy-related businesses through EGAT subsidiaries and affiliates - the EGAT Group.
