About
Equimundo: Center for Masculinities and Social Justice is the next phase of Promundo-US, which grew out of Instituto Promundo in Brazil. Building on Instituto Promundo’s community-based and evidence-based work to engage men and boys in gender equality with a focus on Brazil and Latin America, Promundo-US was established in 2011 to partner globally beyond Latin America and in the US. It has reaffirmed its mission to ensure an intersectional focus on masculinities and social justice and changed its name to make clear its focus on masculinities within and as part of a social justice framework and communicate it to a broader stakeholder audience.
