Ford Otosan is a publicly traded company, with Ford Motor Company and Koç Holding possessing equal shares. Ford Otosan is a leading exporter in Turkey since 2005; in 2017, it exported vehicles and spare parts worth $4.9 billion to 89 countries. Ford Otosan operates in 3 main centres: the Gölcük and Yeniköy plants in Kocaeli; the İnönü plant in Eskişehir; and the Sancaktape R&D Center and Spare Parts Warehouse in Istanbul. It employs 11,000 people. Its R&D Center is a global hub for heavy commercial vehicles and related powertrains and global spokes for light commercial vehicle development and diesel powertrain engineering.
