Fortescue Metals Group is among the world's largest iron ore producers and explorers. Operating in Western Australia, it is engaged in mining iron ore from its Cloudbreak, Christmas Creek and Solomon mine sites; the operation of an integrated mine, rail and port supply chain; and the expansion of iron ore operations. An integral part of the company's policy is its approach to opportunities for Aboriginal people. Fortescue earned $6.9 billion in financial year 2017 and employed 6,250 people.
