Hofstra University

Hofstra University is a private, non-sectarian institution of higher learning located in Hempstead, New York, about 25 miles (40 km) East of New York City. It originated in 1935 as an extension of New York University. The school is noted for a series of prominent presidential conferences and hosted the third and final 2008 US presidential debate between then Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain.
