Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) is a statutory body with a mission to transform Hong Kong into the regional hub for innovation and technology development. HKSTP has four well-defined roles to foster the development of innovation and technology, including the city’s largest R&D base, leading incubator, a super-connector in the innovation and technology ecosystem and a catalyst for Hong Kong’s innovation, technology and entrepreneurship to support industrial diversification.
The primary goals of HKSTP are to diversify and grow the city’s economy, expand employment opportunities across a multitude of industries, raise Hong Kong’s status as a global powerhouse to a new level, foster talent and interest in STEM as well as offer them highly-sought-after tech careers, and most importantly, help create a sustainable world and brighter future for the younger generation.
Since 2001, HKSTP has been carefully building a tech-based ecosystem that connects stakeholders, nurtures talent, facilitates collaboration, and drives innovation to commercialisation.
Focusing on emerging technologies such as biotech, AI & robotics, data, IoT & connectivity and electronics, HKSTP provides pre-incubation support, incubation programmes, enterprise acceleration programmes, innovation research centre, corporate venture fund, investment matching, talent training, etc. It has a Science Park focused on research and development of technology applications, a Innocentre focused on brand design and marketing, and industrial estates focused on skill-intensive advanced manufacturing.
