Movilizatorio

At Movilizatorio, we strategize how to harness new social, economic and technological models to build movements, networks and platforms with impact.
We are a citizen engagement and social innovation lab, that strengthens collective power as an engine of social transformation.
In Movilizatorio we design, test, pilot, and scale campaigns and initiatives to strengthen and enable civic engagement and participation. This involves mapping and researching best practices for participation, engagement, building capacities among activists, co-designing technologies to facilitate their work and launching advocacy campaigns around issues prioritized by and with them. We use research, strategy, technology, communication, creativity, innovation and strategic alliance as tools to mobilize actors and sectors to develop and strengthen initiatives with high social impact. Currently, our main thematic issues are peacebuilding, education, gender equality, anti-corruption, inclusion, and environmental sustainability. We operate in Colombia and other countries of Latin America.

Movilizatorio was born in 2016 precisely as a response to the risks and possibilities to create better civic engagement and social innovation in a context of peace negotiations and peacebuilding. We envisioned the post-conflict scenario in Colombia and, inspired by the advances in civic tech and crowd platforms in the world; committed to the idea of building Movilizatorio with the capacities and knowledge to act when this phase started and have a great impact by opening new channels of civic engagement and social innovation that are much needed in the Colombian context.
Our main strength is to work with a lab approach, allowing us to work collaboratively, participatory, experimentally, and with a multidisciplinary, distributive and agile scope. It also allows us the flexibility to explore different options and evaluate which of them best fits our objectives. Our capacity of resilience is pivotal, to remain relevant and constructive in the Colombian civil society.
Currently, Colombia is transforming and adapting to new political and social realities. After achieving the peace agreement with FARC, the most long-standing illegal armed group in Latin America, multiple social dynamics have changed.

There are three projects that serve as an example of what we do:

- www.elavisperomov.org a community of more than 68,000 activists and change agents that promote participation for causes in Colombia
- www.bajemoslealtonito.com a test and treatment to reduce levels of aggressiveness in society that in less than two weeks was performed by 12,000 people
- www.diciendoyhaciendo.info a process of capacity building, entrepreneurship and technological development of new solutions by young people from a local perspective

In this three years in Colombia we have impacted more than 1 million people, we have consolidated a network of more than 68.0000 active members, we have deployed on the ground work in more than 15 post conflict regions and have worked in more than 23 alliances with national and international organizations.
After only three years we have become a key actor in the ecosystem of civic engagement and social mobilization in Colombia and Latin America.
