Renewables-Grid-Initiative (RGI)

The Renewables Grid Initiative (RGI) promotes the integration of 100% renewably generated electricity into the European grid. Transmission system operators (TSOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) join forces in RGI to support the building of sufficient grid infrastructure in Europe for both decentralized and large-scale renewable energy sources. This grid development should be efficient, sustainable, timely, environmentally friendly and socially acceptable to all stakeholders. RGI members originate from a variety of European countries. RGI was launched in July 2009.
