The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) was established in 1959 to support economic, social and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean. It is the main source of multilateral financing in Latin America and the Caribbean and partners with organizations from the public and private sector, governments, companies and civil society to provide solutions to the region's development challenges. The IDB has been a leader in developing innovative private sector solutions focused on the bottom of the pyramid and in impact investing.
