The University of Alaska, Fairbanks (UAF) is a public research university located in Fairbanks, Alaska, USA. It is the flagship campus of the University of Alaska System and is known as America's Arctic University. UAF was established in 1917 and first opened for classes in 1922. UAF researchers are renowned for research conducted in Arctic biology, Arctic engineering, geophysics, fisheries, marine science, supercomputing, and aboriginal studies.
