Adarsh Kumar

Senior Agribusiness Specialist, World Bank

Adarsh Kumar is a Senior Agribusiness Specialist at the Agriculture Global Practice of the World Bank. where he works on Skill Development policies and programs; agribusiness initiatives; and state-level rural livelihoods and access to credit projects. Formerly, he was the Founder and Executive Director of Livelihoods Equity Connect, an advisory group that seeks to structure investments in the Indian agricultural sector and promote models that connect small farmers to mainstream markets. He also helped found AIACA, a non-profit organization that works to promote textiles and craft producer enterprises. Other work experience includes a stint at the Ford Foundation, where he worked on strengthening micro-credit institutions in South Asia. Kumar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Georgetown University and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He has been awarded the Echoing Green and Ashoka fellowships for social entrepreneurship.
