Alberto C. Vollmer

Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, C. A. Ron Santa Teresa

Alberto C. Vollmer is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Ron Santa Teresa, a rum distiller in Venezuela established in 1796. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering and has also completed programmes in strategy, finance, marketing and conflict resolution. While at university, he worked as a photographer in Bolivia, Chile and Venezuela. As a civil engineer, Vollmer worked in an alternative housing project in the slum of Carapita and then in the public housing department of a state government. He is a board member of Gas Dom‚stico-Domegas, Fundaci¢n Bigott, Venamcham and Vice-President of CONAPRI (Consejo Nacional de Promoci¢n de Inversiones). He founded Project Alcatraz, a social rehabilitation programme that recruits and reinserts gang members into society. He has founded numerous rugby teams, was a member of the Police Reform Commission in Venezuela and has advised different Latin American countries on reinserting violent citizens into society.
