Minister of Foreign Affairs, Global Affairs Canada

As Minister of Foreign Affairs, she is advancing an economy rooted in partnerships and international cooperation, while promoting Canada’s priorities and values on the world stage.
From March 2025 to May 2025, she served as Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, where she focused on strengthening Canada’s economic resilience and global competitiveness.
In September 2024, she was appointed Minister of Transport, with responsibility for Internal Trade added to her mandate in December 2024. In this role, she prioritized investments in supply chains and shipping corridors and, in the context of U.S. tariff threats, led efforts to reduce barriers to internal trade between provinces and territories at an unprecedented pace.
She has also held several senior ministerial portfolios, including Minister of Public Services and Procurement, Minister of National Defence, and President of the Treasury Board. Since being elected Member of Parliament for Oakville East in 2019, she has been committed to delivering meaningful progress through initiatives that strengthen economic growth and support a thriving community.
