Caroline Stauffer is Reuters bureau chief for Southern Latin America, based in Buenos Aires. Caroline previously spent four years in Sao Paulo, where she covered agricultural commodities, the 2014 World Cup, a massive corruption investigation involving state-run oil company Petrobras and the political and economic turmoil of the past two years. A Kansas native, she joined Reuters in Mexico City in 2010 and then moved to Lima, Peru, where she covered the rapidly growing economy and a tense election that brought Ollanta Humala to power. She graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont and has a master’s degree from Columbia University in New York. She oversees coverage from Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia for Reuters.
