David Mann

David is responsible for Standard Chartered’s economic views for Asia. He manages the team of economists based in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. The Asia macro research team was ranked #1 among investors in the 2014 AsiaMoney poll. Previously he was based in New York, responsible for coverage of the US economy, managing the team covering Latin America and providing clients with the bank’s view on Asia in the US time zone. Prior to his time in New York, David was a senior FX Strategist based in London (2000-2005) and Hong Kong (2005- 2009) with Standard Chartered. In 2001 he was awarded the Rybczynski Young Economist Prize for work on the Malaysian ringgit Barometer. David appears regularly on CNN, BBC World, CNBC and Bloomberg Television. He holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Warwick and an MSc in Finance from the University of London (Birkbeck College).
