David McWilliams

David McWilliams is the best-selling non-fiction author in Ireland. He has sold over 150,000 copies of his two books, and both were made into top-rated documentaries, one of which won Documentary of the Year at the IAFTAs. In 2009, his award-winning documentary "Addicted to Money" aired in Australia, Ireland and the US. His latest book, Follow the Money, is being made into a play for the Irish national theatre. He was the brains behind the conference at Farmleigh House in Dublin in 2009. On his weekly current affairs programme, Agenda, McWilliams has interviewed influential thinkers and politicians. He writes two weekly columns and is Writer in Residence at University College Dublin. As an Economist with the Central Bank of Ireland, he helped draft the Irish submission to the EU's Maastricht Treaty and advised authorities during the exchange rate crisis in the 1990s. He worked as Chief European Economist at UBS and Head of Emerging Markets Research at BNP. McWilliams was educated at Blackrock College, Trinity College Dublin and the College of Europe.
