Dmitry Dmitriev is the Global Head of Research at VTB Capital, the investment banking arm of the VTB Group. He also leads the VTB Group’s Analytical Center -- the key internal research and advisory body. VTB Capital Research had been ranked #1-#2 research team in Russia starting from 2011 by Institutional Investor and Thomson Extel surveys. Dmitry, who himself has been voted the #2 country analyst for Russia in the Thomson Reuters Extel 2011 investor survey, came to VTB Capital in 2008 with vast experience in the financial markets from Deutsche Bank where he was Director of Research covering Russia’s financial sector. He acted as Co-leader of the Deutsche Bank EMEA Financials Research Team which was ranked number one in the 2007 Extel survey and number two in the 2007 Institutional Investor survey. He was also personally ranked as the number one EMEA Financial Services analyst in the 2007 Extel survey and number one Banking sector analyst in Russia in the 2007 RBC survey. Prior to his work at Deutsche Bank, Dmitry was Senior Analyst, Banking Sector and Fixed Income with the Russian investment company United Financial Group (UFG). There he oversaw quantitative analysis and covered the sovereign, corporate and municipal foreign currency and rouble bond markets. He joined UFG from Moscow-based East-West Investment Bank, where he was responsible for research on the fixed income market and regional bonds. Dmitry is also a Qualified Financial Risk Manager – Certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals. He holds a master’s degree from Moscow State University in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics.
