Erik Charas is the Founder and CEO of Charas, LDA, a private sector company investing in and driving the growth of entrepreneurship and innovation in Mozambique. Charas LDA invests and works in Real estate, Media, Transport, Technology, Finance, Health and Wellness as well as in the social development sector through it's non-profit association. Charas Lda, operates in Mozambique, South Africa, Portugal and the Netherlands. Erik Charas was named MSN Hero of Africa 2005 and Archbishop Tutu African Leadership Initiative Fellow 2007, and WEF YGL in 2006. Erik Charas is part of several boards of companies and non-profits based in Mozambique and abroad. He is also an invited lecturer at the Universidade Eduardo Mondlane, Mozambique's only public university. Charas has a degree in Engineering from the University of Cape Town and over 20 years experience in the private and public sectors in Southern Africa.
