Gong Ke is Executive Director of the Chinese Institute for New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Strategies and Chairman of the Academic Committee of Nankai University. His work spans artificial intelligence strategy, electronic engineering, wireless communications, science and technology policy, and engineering education. He previously served as President of Nankai University and Tianjin University and as Vice President of Tsinghua University. He was President of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations from 2019 to 2021 and served on the UN Secretary-General’s Scientific Advisory Board. In 2026, he was elected Chair of the inaugural Governing Board of UNESCO’s International Institute for STEM Education.
