He Jia

Director, Global Public Policy and Corporate Affairs, ByteDance

He Jia is a public policy expert with over a decade of professional experience in the technology industry. She currently works as Director of Global Public Policy and Corporate Affairs at ByteDance, where she has been advising senior leadership on the company's rapid globalization in 150 overseas markets and driving policy research, engagement and policy programs of strategic importance to the world's most valuable startup. Prior to joining ByteDance, Jia was a public policy manager of Uber and researcher at China Academy of Information and Communications Technology. Jia received her MSc in Engineering and Policy Analysis at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.She also has an MSc in Public Management and a BA in Business Administration and Management at Harbin Institute of Technology of China. Jia was a recipient of the Erasmus Mundus Fellowship by the European Union in 2013. She is a member of the GeneralPrinciple Committee of Ethically Aligned Design of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a fellow of The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and member of the organization's Non-Commercial UsersConstituency. Jia was co-author of China AI Development Report 2018.
