Heather Koldewey

Head of Bertarelli Foundation's Marine Science Programme, Zoological Society of London

Started working for the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) in 1995, initially as a postdoctoral research scientist, then as curator of the ZSL London Zoo Aquarium and currently as Head of Marine and Freshwater Conservation. Honorary Professor, University of Exeter, Cornwall campus and leads the Bertarelli Programme in Marine Science. January 2018, appointed a National Geographic Fellow, specializing in ocean plastics. Interests: finding solutions through interdisciplinary research and conservation action at the interface between communities and environment, as well as protecting and exploring the last ocean wilderness areas.
