Elizabeth Joyce is the Chief Information Security Officer for HPE and is responsible for building world class, extensible security capabilities that protect HPE’s assets and workforce from cyber threats on a daily basis and enable and extend business capabilities. All aspects of information security – strategy, architecture and operations; product security, information and threat management; governance, risk and compliance; third party assessment; identity and access management; security transformation and training – fall under her purview. Previously Elizabeth served as CISO for HP’s Software Division. She joined HP through its Autonomy acquisition where she was the Chief Security Officer and Group Operations Infrastructure leader. Elizabeth also held leadership roles at Iron Mountain as the Senior Vice President for Worldwide Service Delivery in charge of all aspects of post-sale deliver, and at Symantec as VP and General Manager for Enterprise Services, Americas. Elizabeth has led large operational and small technical teams and has successfully executed several turnarounds. In addition to her role at HPE, Elizabeth serves as a board member on the Information Technology-Information Sharing and Analysis Center (IT-ISAC) and the National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC), underscoring the importance she places in multi-stakeholder collaboration. She also contributed actively on the Steering Committee of the WEF’s Cyber resilience project (2017). Elizabeth is also a strong believer in giving back to society and invests considerably in diversity and youth programs. She is currently leading a new innovative partnership with the Girl Scout’s largest regional council to introduce a new Cybersecurity Patch Program, as a precursor to a broader national program. The partnership will initially provide a cybersecurity curriculum for girls across the council (60,193 girls in grades K-12 and 27,119 adults) in Washington, DC and 25 surrounding counties, building skills and confidence in today’s youth. Elizabeth also serves as Executive sponsor for HPE customers in both the financial and technology verticals and acts as a mentor and sponsor to men and women, in Americas and EMEA, both internal and external to HPE. Elizabeth holds a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in information security from the University of Plymouth (UK) and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science Honours from University College (Dublin).
