BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Gazi University. 1980, businessman and industrialist. 1987, elected to Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO), youngest elected member; Member, ASO Board of Directors; 1991, Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors; contributed to Turkey's development by administering and initiating major projects in the areas of economy, production, employment, industry, trade and SMEs; also developed a number of projects beneficial to 70,000 SMEs under The Anatolian Approach, which was subsequently passed as a bill in 2006. 1998-2007, thrice elected Vice-President, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey. 2007, Member of Parliament, Ankara; Minister of Trade and Industry; 2009, Minister of State in Charge of Foreign Trade; 2011, Minister of Economy. Member, Board of Trustees: TOBB University of Economics and Technology; Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey.
