Books include: Merchants of Doubt (2010), short-listed for the Los Angeles Times book prize and released as a documentary film in 2015; The Collapse of Western Civilization (2014); Why Trust Science? (2019); Science on a Mission (2020); and The Big Myth: How American Business Taught Us to Loathe Government and Love the Free Market (forming, 2023). Recipient of numerous prizes and awards, including 2015 American Historical Association Herbert Feis Prize for public history, 2019 British Academy Medal, and 2018 Guggenheim Fellowship.
