Nyam-Osor Uchral is the Prime Minister of Mongolia. Prior to his appointment in March 2026, he served as Chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia from 2025 to 2026, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Development in 2025, and Minister and Chief Cabinet Secretary of Mongolia from 2024 to 2025. He previously served as Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Communications from 2022 to 2024 and as Chairman of the Standing Committee on Innovation and Digital Policy of the State Great Hural from 2020 to 2022. Since 2019, he has served as President of the Social Democracy–Mongolian Youth Federation. He also chaired the Parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee on e-Policy from 2018 to 2020. A Member of the State Great Hural since 2016, he previously served as Adviser on Media and Public Relations to the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia from 2015 to 2016 and as a Representative of the Citizens’ Representatives Khural of Bayanzurkh District from 2012 to 2016.

During his tenure as the Speaker of the State Great Hural, Uchral has introduced the “Unlock Mongolia” Initiative, a reform agenda centered on removing the barriers that have constrained Mongolia’s full potential. The initiative is focused on four key pillars: unlocking economic opportunity, unlocking the green transition, strengthening good governance and the fight against corruption, and unlocking legal and regulatory barriers that hinder growth, investment, and competitiveness.
As Prime Minister, Uchral has placed economic reform, private sector growth, and investment attraction and facilitation at the heart of his leadership. His government has emphasized reducing red tape across public services, improving business environment, accelerating strategic projects, while ambitiously leading a green transition which includes an agenda on reducing energy and oil independence. His reform agenda also includes landmark resource partnerships, including major initiatives to develop Mongolia’s untapped potentials including renewable energy, minerals and infrastructure.
