Paul Daugherty

Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, Accenture

Paul is a renowned technology executive, thought leader, and author. He is Senior Technology Advisor to Accenture, and until recently, served as Accenture's CEO for Technology and Chief Technology and Innovation Officer (CTIO). In these roles, he played a key role in Accenture’s own transformation to becoming a digital leader and largest global technology services firm. Paul led R&D through Accenture Labs, and founded Accenture Ventures, a top tier corporate VC with a portfolio of over 80 investments and many successful exits.
Paul is co-author of two highly acclaimed books: Human + Machine: Reimagining Work in the Age of AI (2024, 2018), a management playbook for the business of artificial intelligence; and Radically Human: How New Technology is Transforming Business and Shaping Our Future (2022). His recent article, “GenAI at Work”, was featured on the cover of Harvard Business Review magazine in Fall 2024.
Paul serves on the boards of Databook, The Computer History Museum, Carnegie Mellon Block Center for Technology and Society, University of Michigan Computer Science and Engineering program, and American Society for AI.
Paul is an active angel investor and advisor to startups including Regrello, Origin Benefits, Pepper Content, Workhelix, Milestone.ai, Poolside, Distyl, Hubble Network, Trainloop, Resolve,ai, Wordware, aaru, Replica Labs, Nova AI, Perceptron, Distributional, Strangeworks, Revel Moments.
Paul is a passionate advocate for STEM-related inclusion and diversity initiatives. For more than six years, he was a member of the board of directors of Girls Who Code. He was awarded the annual “Guy Who Gets It” award by the Institute for Women’s Leadership for his impact on growing women leaders in the industry.
In 2023, Paul received the St. Patrick’s Day Science Medal for his work in AI and also won the Thinkers50 Digital Leadership award. Paul accepted the FASPE Award for Ethical Leadership for his leading work in responsible AI. He has been named top leader in ComputerWorld 100, AdWeek Top 50 Technology, and Constellation Research Business Transformation 150 lists.
Paul recently celebrated his 36th anniversary with his wife Beth, and they have four children. Paul is an active reader, sailor, snowboarder, runner, drone pilot, and technology geek.
