Safwan Masri

BSc and MSc in Industrial Engineering, Purdue; PhD in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, Stanford. 1988, joined Columbia University as Faculty, Columbia Business School; then Vice-Dean; currently, Executive Vice-President, Global Centers and Global Development; as an ambassador for Columbia, cultivates relationships with alumni and with international leaders, essential to the continued development of a global Columbia; helps coordinate various university-wide global initiatives, and works to extend Columbia's reach to match the pressing demands of global society; also responsible for the development of an expanding network of Columbia Global Centers. Has taught at INSEAD and Stanford. Founding Chairman Emeritus: King's Academy; Queen Rania Teacher Academy. Scholarly interests include education reform in the Middle East and contemporary Arab geopolitics and society.
