Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Citizenship and Immigration Canada

Sean Simon Andrew Fraser is Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, and has served as the Member of Parliament for Central Nova since 2015. As Canada’s Minister of Immigration, he is currently leading Canada’s efforts to boost immigration levels to help drive the post-pandemic economic recovery, and he is responsible for the federal government’s initiatives that offer safe haven to displaced persons fleeing Afghanistan and Ukraine. His previous work as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister included contributions to the Government of Canada’s economic response to COVID-19, during which time he served as a primary spokesperson for the federal government in parliament on fiscal and economic matters. He also helped inform the federal government’s environmental policy agenda during his term as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change.
