Director-General, WorldFish Center, an institution dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger by improving fisheries and aquaculture in developing countries. Has served on numerous national and international committees. Has published extensively on the structure and functioning of marine ecological systems, focussing especially on the effects of natural and human disturbance.
