Digital Innovation to Combat Non-Communicable Diseases

What changes from COVID-19 will be permanent and what changes will not be permanent? How are we witnessing drastic, permanent changes in healthcare system delivery that adversely impact how we screen, diagnose, and treat Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)?

Digital health and telemedicine can be great tools to improve healthcare delivery, but will these innovations create new disparities? We hypothesize that, for instance, in-person key screenings for NCDs will decline in the age of virtual medicine. Will this change further have an impact on our SDG goal to decrease the mortality of NCDs by 2030?

The Forum is exploring key concerns and strategies around NCDs and their intersection with digital platforms. It is imperative that ensure early diagnosis across a range of NCDs leveraging digital innovations while still recognizing any potential risks to such new strategies.
