Developed in collaboration with Kearney and building on earlier stakeholder consultations, Beyond Tourism: Coordinated Pathways to Inclusive Prosperity explores how a shift towards an ecosystem-based approach can transform travel and tourism into a stronger driver of prosperity, resilience and inclusion.

As the sector continues to grow, it faces intensifying challenges, ranging from resident vs. visitor tensions to workforce shortages and environmental strain that the traditional, fragmented model can no longer manage effectively. Recognizing that the sector operates as an interconnected ecosystem of visitors and residents, T&T businesses, enabling and adjacent sectors, civil society and governments, the publication calls for greater alignment across the enablers of people and skills, finance, infrastructure, technology and innovation, and policy and governance. Through global destination case studies, it showcases how collaboration among diverse actors can transform challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth.
