The automotive industry is undergoing its most challenging transformation in over a century, and software has an important role to play in it.
This briefing paper aims to help the industry align on a more unified, sector-wide, scalable vehicle software solution that will drive safety and innovation during the life cycle of the vehicle. It does so by exploring a target picture for the vehicle software platform and providing a timeline for how its different characteristics could evolve. The paper is a result of the cross-industry discussions of the Automotive in the Software-Driven Era community.
