Highlights 15 high potential technology areas and pathways to speed up renewable energy development and deployment.

Highlights 15 high potential technology areas and pathways to speed up renewable energy development and deployment.

Around two thirds of global greenhouse gas emissions stems from energy production and consumption. Accelerating development and deployment of technologies to decarbonize energy production and consumption will therefore be at the core of tackling climate change effectively at the speed required to “clock in” inside the 2 degrees Celsius temperature rise.

Despite astonishing progress in areas such as renewable energy and energy efficiency in recent years, faster, wider and deeper action is required. There are many technology options to decarbonize energy and innovation to make them all real and more affordable is paramount.

This whitepaper by the Global Agenda Council on Decarbonizing Energy highlights 15 high potential technology areas and pathways to speed up their development and deployment.
