Barcelona's New Green Superblocks Could Save 31,000 People From Poor Mental Health

The Spanish city has embarked on its Eixos Verds (Green Axes) plan. The project groups 9 city blocks into 3x3 ‘superblocks’ and bans traffic from the inner roads. Turning them into footpaths, play areas and green corridors. In time, there could be 500 superblocks and 1 in 3 streets could be pedestrianised, boosting green space by 6%.
