Slovakia is recycling cigarette butts into roads

At public events, cigarette butts are collected then processed into special fibres which can be used to strengthen asphalt. The capital Bratislava is running the trial. It placed bins at Christmas markets to collect cigarette and vape filters. It plans to do the same throughout 2024 before turning the rubbish into roads.
