Why cybersecurity needs diverse thinkers and a dynamic approach

This video is part of: Centre for Cybersecurity

There is a global shortage of nearly 4 million cybersecurity professionals

It's becoming increasingly complex for companies to defend themselves against every threat out there, especially when vulnerabilities are being released on a daily basis. This ever-changing landscape highlights the critical need for a diverse range of thoughts and skillsets within cybersecurity teams.

Importance of diversity in cybersecurity

Effectively solving cybersecurity problems requires a team that can approach challenges from different angles. Bringing together individuals with varied backgrounds and expertise allows for a more comprehensive understanding of threats and the development of more robust solutions.

The need for adaptability

Cybersecurity has never been more important and it's never been more dynamic. Attackers are exfiltrating terabytes of data within hours, while the average organization takes six days to respond. This highlights the need for cyber defenders to constantly adapt and learn new skills to stay ahead of the threats.
