Developers in England now legally have to create habitats for wildlife

New projects must deliver a 10% net increase in biodiversity and maintain it for at least 30 years. The policy is called biodiversity net gain (BNG). It will apply to new developments, from housing estates and roads to ‘nationally significant infrastructure projects’ such as solar farms and railways.
