In the EU, companies now have to fix your broken devices

The EU already has a 2-year mandatory warranty on products from smartphones to TVs, washing machines and vacuum cleaners. Under its new ‘right to repair’ law, once that period has expired, brands must still offer repairs, either for free or at a ‘reasonable’ price. Brands must also make spare parts and tools available and they can’t insert clauses that prevent repairs.
