France Promises To Replant 1 Billion Trees Within 10 Years

President Macron made the pledge following a summer of massive wildfires which destroyed 72,000 hectares, 6 times more than the annual average. Macron is also boosting France’s ability to fight wildfires with a €250 million modernization of the country’s airborne firefighting fleet.
