In the US, heatwaves kill more people annually than hurricanes, lightning, tornadoes, floods and earthquakes combined. How can you keep extreme heat at bay? Put your feet in cold water. This reduces your core temperature and keeps your organs working. Take a lukewarm shower or bath but don’t lie in very cold water as it can be dangerous.
