‘As an athlete, you die twice, at the end of your career and at the end of life.’

Former professional footballer Mathieu Flamini spent nearly 20 years living his passion for the game.

Afterwards, he reinvented himself, co-founding a company that converts agricultural waste into sustainable ingredients used in everyday products like shampoo and detergents.

Growing up by the sea made him aware of humanity’s impact on the planet, and he wanted to use his next chapter to help address it.

He joined us at the Global Future Leaders Meeting 2026 in Dubai to share what elite sport teaches about business: performing under pressure, commitment and leadership.
