Mangroves Help Fight Climate Change, Now We Need To Fight For Them

This groundbreaking project in Colombia is showing us how mangroves can store more carbon per acre than rainforests. In a single square kilometre, mangroves hold as much carbon as the annual emissions of 35,000 cars. But when mangroves are destroyed, they emit carbon stored for centuries. Nearly 10,000km2 of mangroves have been lost since 1996.
