Many of the world's cities aren't ready for EVs. Here's what needs to happen

Emission-free transport is key to reaching net zero. Sales of electric vehicles (EVs) are surging globally. In 2023, almost 14 million passenger EVs were sold across the globe, around 40% more than in 2022. Charging networks are expanding rapidly in cities to accommodate this surge but the rollout is not keeping pace with rising sales of EVs.
