NASA’s new satellite gives hourly pollution updates for the US

TEMPO was launched into space aboard a rocket in April 2023. Its name stands for Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution. It has a resolution of several square kilometres and will drastically improve studies of rush-hour traffic fumes, the movement of smoke and ash from forest fires and how farming fertilizer impacts air quality.
