7 new UNESCO World Heritage sites

UNESCO has inscribed 43 new cultural and natural sites on the World Heritage list in 2023. 3 sites in Ukraine have been added to the World Heritage in Danger list including the historic centre of Odesa. Climate change threatens 1 in 3 natural sites and 1 in 6 cultural heritage sites due to consequences including more wildfires, floods, storms and erosion.
