Pakistan’s first certified female architect is creating flood-resistant homes

Yasmeen Lari’s homes resemble traditional chauhra huts but with a twist. They’re built on metre-high raised platforms, using prefabricated frames made from cured bamboo, stoppered with lime to protect them from termites. The homes are faster and cheaper to build than cement homes and more disaster-resilient than normal mud huts.
