Paris just voted to triple parking fees for SUVs

55% of Parisians voted for the measure in a referendum. It will cost €18 an hour to park a car of 1.6 tonnes or more in central Paris. After the first 2 hours, it gets rapidly more expensive. A 6-hour stay will cost €225 compared with €75 for smaller cars. The charges will only apply to out-of-town visitors.
