Planting trees and bushes by a road significantly cuts air pollution

It reduces black carbon - the small, often carcinogenic particles that come from vehicle exhausts - by 37% and ultra-fine particle pollution by 7%. These reductions could help prevent chronic lung diseases such as asthma and bronchitis.
